what makes change happen? beginnings are important but do they determine our future? this cocoon is delicate, I was scared bringing it home, scared that it would break. I mean it's only held by this thin feather-like string. So it got me to think, beginnings are like that...sometimes we're holding on by a "wing and prayer" the winds sway us back and fro and yet...this cocoon holds on...maybe i should too
though darkness surrounds it, scary and unknown..it's only hope to fully transform into what it will be depends on this strength right now...to hold on...to give a chance to what can be...
for there's a transformation occurring...something deep within it is changing...it's taking on another form. I am mesmerized how this metamorphosis takes place, like God giving me a glimpse of his majesty...i mean he could have just made this what is it but i believe it's purpose is to show me that he can change
s o m e t h i n g
completely different from what it started out from...
so that we EMERGE, we overcome; glorious, beautiful...
we can look at what we started out from and quickly realize we have persevered. so the butterfly hangs there a bit, stretching it's wings and preparing for flight. see it probably still has the mentality of the caterpillar. it doesn't imagine it's capabilities but it's coming to her. slowly...she's becoming aware of her surroundings... no longer suppressed by the tight shell it was in...
but it needs the sun, the warmth of it's rays. what makes the butterfly yearn for the sun...same i think that makes our soul yearn for the SON! we get our energy, our purpose. this butterfly is contemplating it's plan from here on out...a world to explore...
and now...with full realization, ANTICIPATION, wings spread out wide...ready for the unknown, realizing that it's gone though TRANSFORMATION, now it's ready for whatever comes! I'm sure it's scared, it's a BIG world out there...but you have to take it...grab it...posses it...one day at a time...
it's no secret to anyone who knows me that i am fascinated with butterflies. this butterfly was given to me by my wonderful husband. i watched it daily...examined it...of course probably blinded it from all the pictures i took...i really did not expect anything to impact me about this butterfly...i mean i love butterflies, but i had never EXPERIENCED what it really goes through. I wish EVERYONE had an opportunity to watch this transformation up close. it will change your outlook on life...no more meaningless days...MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT!

Screenwriter
Ever since I was little, I wanted to be,
among other things, a writer/author.
I think it's just...elegant, typing your thoughts
on a typewriter... the sound the key makes as it
imprints it's mark on your blank paper. It reminds
me of the Audrey Hepburn movie "Paris when
it Sizzles". William Holden stuck in a rut and
here comes Audrey Hepburn, with her
typewriter in it's little case. Walking down
the street, looking elegant and poised.
William gets inspired by her and writes this
wonderful play...
that all got started one key at
a time on a beautiful typewriter...
my mom, in her many hats, is a
notary/
clerical secretary/
super hero
and she used the typewriter way
before she even thought of a computer and I
remember hearing her in her office, just
typing away on like carbon paper because
of course people needed copies...(smile)
so my little pink typewriter...inspirational
screenwriter...one day...you'll see...
no one can take away my dreams...

there goes the neighborhood
neighborhood and this morning reality kick me
in the stomach! My truck was ransacked!!!
yeah, and like normally my truck, I admit, is
not the cleanest...the scoundrel left it in shambles.
Shame on him...or her...if he or she reads this,
probably on a STOLEN computer, I say "STOP
breaking in people's car. IT'S ANNOYING!!!"
okay, I'm done...tomorrow will be a better day...
I mean today was too...I am alive, my kiddos are healthy,
I have a roof over my head, a great job, and Jesus in
my heart...Can't beat that! but I can't say what I
would do in a dark alley if I found the person who
did this!!! LOL

My 'Hood
Since Valentin and I were dating, we would always pass
through Winnetka Heights and we would wish to one
day live there. I mean we grew up in Oak Cliff, graduated
from Sunset High School for pete's sake, but we wanted to
live in this beautiful neighborhood. So God really blessed
us with our house. It's exactly what we wanted and we've
restored it and made it our home. Lots of hard work went
into this house. I'll load those pictures soon. But today it
rained and as I was coming home I felt nostalgia for my
neighborhood. It's filled with different people from all
walks of life. I love the colors and the trees and just
feel really blessed to live here.

This is my street, we just got road humps put in.
We have beautiful old homes all shapes and colors.
EVERY house is unique and personal. We have these
really cool street lamps that remind my of those Thomas
Kincaid painting of like Paris, France.

How fun was this growing up...never mind
Sofi was itchy and I had to find a restroom
to wash her off...

Okay, so Joel climbed this tree and it cost me
a headache! Sofi wanted to get on the tree and
there was a line...so she couldn't get on...craziness

Joel is so unique! All the other kids
were just sitting on the chair like
normal, but my Joel had to sit backwards!

Here was Sofi going through every window
yelling "Mom! Cheeeeese!" so of course I
have to take her a picture.

I'm so proud that Sofi is being very independent
now, she used to be just at Joel's side, but now
she's more comfortable being on her own.
