Just a sleep-over....part 1

My Joel and Sophia turned another year old this weekend. It's interesting to me how each of them are developing their own sense of style and their own unique taste...Joel wanted a sleep over with ONLY BOYS....he didn't want any crafty invitations, oh no...my son made me send EVITES, I'm so ashamed...I'm not judging those who send those out, but anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE to make invitations. An invitation really sets the anticipation for the party....anyway...so my son wants a sleep over....no balloons, no fancy decorations, not even a table cover...just his friends and cousins over....I didn't even take very many photos...7 to be exact and I barely got away with those....

smores time...we do appreciate Tio Isa showing us the art of making smores

I'm just happy that my son was happy and that he's growing into a great boy with a good heart.

Horse Party Part 2

Now Sophia is still my little princess, she still appreciates the fancy invitations, the themes, the decorations, the attention to detail. She revels in the attention she gets, with all the shopping we have to do....this year, Sophia wanted a horse party, not to be confused by a cowgirl party or a western party, oh no, a horse party...so I did what every OCD mother would do, I signed up my daughter for riding lessons, truth be told, she had been asking for a while to learn how to ride and now with the party I wanted her to experience every aspect of horses.

We started with the invitation, sewn each one by hand...which my fingers are still recovering from...it takes some real expertise to sew through burlap!

But I loved how they turned out and Sophia also helped with the sewing!
Next of course is the planning, buying, scheming, pinning, buying, shopping, pinning, crafting, buying, long nights...but then voila, Sophia's Horse Party

Big THANK YOU to Tio Isa (again) for the artwork!

spray paint is my new best friend

These were my favorite detail of the party...and the girls loved picking out their own horse.

Thank you to Crystal for the beautiful cake (again), that "S" was a last minute craft, but I like it and now Sophia can hang it up in her room...

Great form on Sophia, she's a natural!

Most of the girls were first-timers on the horse but they seemed to have enjoyed it.

Gracie was our youngest one, but she was the most daring! Doing tricks and trotting over pipes!

This smile made all the hard work and back ache worth every bit!

 Grilling their own hotdogs!
 Making paintings of their horse!

The youngest members where not going to stay behind!
Selah was on that mini and didn't even flinch

Chevron Baby Shower

The moment has come when I can use Chevron stripes for a party. Of course I would use them for my sister's baby shower. I'm so happy that she is having a girl (gave me an excuse to use the stripes!) and that this baby will complete her family. Check out the pics below...
