Butterfly Fairy Garden Party

We had Selah's party this weekend and it was so amazing. First off, I would like to thank God for the amazing weather He provided for us. There were reports that it would rain but we prayed and God granted our prayer and we had 82 degree weather! Couldn't have asked for a better day. It was hard work and since I had fallen off my bike a couple of days before I was very sore. But my family really pulled through. Valentin was awesome and did such an amazing job putting the chairs, tables, and running the last bit of errands I needed finished. Joel and Sophia were such great helpers with the decorating and even the cooking. We had a great turn-out and most importantly Selah had fun.

I wanted everyone to feel like they stepped into a butterfly garden, deep in the forest...

with a chandelier in the center of course...

 The first playstations!

A little bit of tissue paper and twigs from the yard made these quite special

We had a Mac & Cheese stations with 4 different kinds of mac! YUM!

Such cute holders I scored for a dollar!!!

This cake was not only beautiful but it tasted delish

The name does has a beautiful tone if I do say so myself

Selah

On this very day, on year ago, God blessed our lives with a baby girl, who's name was going to be Valentina. (Or at least that's what I thought) All my pregnancy I kept telling my Dr., after she told me my due date was on Sept. 10, that I didn't want to have her on 9/11. I tried everything to have her earlier, and I mean EVERYTHING! But there I was Sunday morning being admitted after laboring much of the night before. Even still my heart was not at peace. I got a spectacular room with a view of downtown but all I was focusing on was the TV with all the memorials of 9/11. (I can pretty much tell you all about 9/11 now). It was the 10th anniversary last year so they were re-running all the footage and interviews and my heart was really so sad, sad for all those people that died that day but also sad that I was giving birth to my little baby girl, that I had waited so long for on this day... After 12 hours of being stalled at the same dialation, my mom read Psalm 46. Verse 1 says "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, even though the earth be removed, I shall not fear." The whole chapter is amazing but we focused on verse 10 that says "Be still, and know that I AM God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Then it has a little word next to it that says Selah...All throughout the pregnancy Valentin and I never agreed on a name, he wanted Carolina, I wanted Valentina, but at that moment, our hearts and eyes connected and we just KNEW that her name was Selah. And so today I pray that Selah will exalt God all the days of her life and that God will take her to different nations to proclaim His wonders and His works.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful Selah Vanessa

When you have a dream...

My beautiful best friend (BBF) has just opened her own space of vintage and antique furniture. I am so happy for her! This is a dream that God placed in her heart and people blessed her with many beautiful things to start up her business. It amazes me to see how when you are faithful to God, God never fails in delivering. Juana has always remained true to herself and no matter the trials that she faces, she continues to press forward. The week leading up to her opening was turbulent, to say the least, but what I admire the most about her is her tenacity in trials. She sets her sight on her goal and with God's blessing keeps it moving. I am so proud and so happy and I pray that God continues to bless her and her business. And I know that with the help of God and her wonderful husband, Abel, her blessings will be pressed, shaken together, and running over.
So when YOU have a dream, don't let anyone take it from you. Trust that if God lead you to dream it, He will also lead you to accomplish it.
With all that said, here are just some of the wonderful things she has for sale....
