Jerry Uelsmann

I am going to be meeting Jerry Uelsmann this week at Richlan College. I am so excited. I've always loved his work and his images.

He is the expert in dark room developing. All of his work is done with an enlarger in the darkroom, NO DIGITAL manipulating here! I'm just so excited to meet him and talk to him. This is a once in a life time opportunity! I have always admired him and consider him an inspiration.

Yikes...so long ago

I've not turned out to be a good blogger huh! sorry, I'll be better! so much going on, really...that's why my doll is thinking...at least I think that's what she looks like she's doing....My mom loves this doll, she said it reminds her of me, ahhh motherly love... so I'm in school now and my photography teacher says that I should always "create surprises", are you surprised by this picture? Anyway, no more rain, please. I can't get my camera wet! Oh and Sophia went to the arboretum and she loved it, Joel got a C at the dentist... I swear he brushes his teeth everyday, I don't know what's going on there. My boo is behind on my math work...what am I going to do with him...My parents are still not here! that's all I gotta say about that and finally life IS NOT like a box of chocolates, more like a pack of altoids! You figure the irony in that!!

So I don't travel as much as I'd like to, but
when we used to go to visit my Dad
(weird saying used to)
we would come across this quaint little
town called Calvert, Texas...
It has cool store fronts with like
antique shops and a cafe, and a western
furniture place etc. but right in the
middle of all this is this...
yellow bicycle man..
What do you suppose the artist who did it
was thinking...maybe he was a bike rider,
or maybe he did it for Lance Armstrong...
the yellow was the clue...So anyone
out there who knows something
about this let me know...
just curious...

Lazy Sunday Afternoons

I haven't posted in a while, so much going on
but it's always nice to be able to hang out at
home, read a good book, and take pictures of
my babies, Winston (white) and Chelsea (black).

New Life

This little guy has been the HIGHLIGHT

of my depressing week! My sissy had her

baby yesterday. He is so soft and cuddly...

He observed everyone around him and I

never heard him cry...I'm so proud of my

little sister. She was so brave and strong.

This is her first baby and she was just a

champion at delivery. My sister will be an

awesome MOM, she's already an awesome

Aunt so I know that she'll be great! Baby

Auggi will be much loved, he joins a very, very

ginormous family that will hold him and squeeze

his chubby cheeks!

Maybe happiness for me is through this door...

My Papi

I haven't blogged for such a long time which is actually

interesting because since the last post SO MUCH has

happened! I have this picture of my Dad in my truck

always. I don't really talk a whole lot about my Dad

or where he's at, mostly because even though I love my

Dad and I'm so proud of him, I don't like the judgments

other people have, so I don't talk too much about him...

But I will today, because I believe it's a testimony that

gives GOD all the honor...my dad has been in prison

for almost 24 years... There were a whole lotta

sad moments in my life, more than I would

like to remember but there was also some

really happy ones. I loved to go see my Dad, I could

hug him and sit next to him and touch his hands. It was

amazing, I just thought there with him I was so protected,

never mind that as soon as he went through those heavy metal doors

he was humiliated and ridiculed. To me my Dad was and still is MY HERO!

I love him because even though he wasn't physically around I

have so much of him in me. My Dad is a survivor, the biggest thing

I could inherit from him would be that trait.

Okay, I'm sure I've rambled...but I want to get to the point.

My Dad is being paroled! This has been a miracle, a truly

answered prayer! I want to THANK EVERYONE who

has been in prayer for my Dad, thank you for not

judging him and really praying in faith, hope and LOVE that

he would be out soon. I think that my WHOLE family could not have

stayed in unity with one another if it wasn't for those prayer warriors.

Reflection

I just got through watching this and it made me think...
really, what purpose do I have in this world?
this goes beyond the "what I want to be when I grow up"....
it's more like what am I doing to make a change?
I can't just be existing...right???

surprised, my poor hubby was just taking

all my abuse (I thought he wasn't going to

do anything) and he never said anything.

I am just truly blessed and grateful to everyone
